After years of living with your liver transplant, you may feel that taking your medications is not as important as it used to be, but this is simply not true.
Even years after transplant surgery, missing medication doses, failing to keep scheduled medical appointments, and not completing regular lab tests can put you at risk for rejection and organ loss.
As always, stay on track with your treatment plan and discuss any concerns you may have with your transplant team. Remember, you are the most important part of your transplant team, and the success of your transplanted organ depends on your continual and active role in your health.
Remember, your medications are a big part of helping you feel good—but they can only do their job if they are taken as directed.
